Our Housekeeping staff
Kelly and her crew do an excellent job keeping the manor spotless. It is always clean and organized. They do a wonderful job sanitizing and keeping the manor germ free. Part of their duties include the weekly housekeeping (which is included in the rent). They come to your room on the scheduled day, vacuum and change your bed linens and towels and remove any garbage you may have.They are a great bunch of gals and are always willing to help you with anything else that may arise. Laundry rooms are provided on each floor for your own personal use. They are not coin operated, they are free!
Our Dining Room
All of our meals are prepared by our Chef John (who has been with us for over 18 years!) and are served at your table in our exquisitely decorated Dining Room. We usually provide 3 choices for each meal. Fridays John and his crew put on a buffet night where we experiment with a different theme each time.
Our Suites
Our suites have all been up-graded with state of the art security and fire alarm systems. Each room and hallway has sprinklers. The suites are also equipped with strobe lights for those people with poor hearing. The Manor is constructed of cement and cinder blocks making it virtualy fire proof. The bathrooms are all equipped with safety grab bars and non slip floors. We supply a fridge and you are welcome to bring things like micro-waves, toasters, coffee makers, electric fry pans etc. sorry no hot plates allowed. Cable is included as is Hydro & Gas. Phone is the residents responsibility.
Our Recreation Facility
Our large recreation room is equipped with a shuffle board, pool table, card tables, puzzles crafts area and much, much more. We have local artists and choirs come to entertain the residents on a regular basis. We also have a monthly birthday party where we celebrate any resident who had a birthday that month. In our exercise room you will find treadmills and several different types of machines that will help you to stay as fit as you can. Also each week day Alison (our recreation coordinator) has a sit and stretch class that encourages the residents to stay active. Some of her other duties are to organize outings to various places and games like bingo, euchre, rummoli, cribbage tournaments to name but a few. She is always open to any new suggestions.
Our Residents
We have approximately 85 residents living at the Manor, and can accommodate up to 100. About 60% are women and the average age of our residents is about 80. We also have several couples living at the Manor. Our residents are friendly, fun loving people that will welcome you to Charles Manor with open arms and warm hearts.
